July Prayer Letter 2008
Rev Willie & Tersia Downing Kent, England Willie & I are most grateful to the Lord for providing employment for Tersiathrough the UK Prison Services and she has the privilege of working for aChristian boss. It's only a 15 min drive to work which is an added blessingin light of increased fuel costs. Thank you for praying for us. We'reabout to start looking for accommodation in earnest now (have been stayingwith our children) & looking to the Lord for His direction once again.Dave & Shirley Templeton & their family are still in South Africa andtrusting the Lord to open the door for them to come and take up their placeas part of the IPHC team in Northern Wales. They've been ready to come forthe last 9 months, but things have not come together for them yet. Pleasecontinue to lift them up in prayer.~ Willie & Tersia Downing, UK ~PS The attached photo of Willie & Tersia taken at the East Sutton Parkchurch which borders the East Sutton Park prison property where Tersia works
Dave and Kathy Glover Bristol, England Don't we have such a good God!Once a year we have a 'Wrinklies day out'. This is where the bus driver(Kathy this year) takes anyone in the church with wrinkles to a nearbyseaside town for the day. It is mostly ladies that take part in this. So offwe went on 7th June and we had a wonderful day. This time we'd brought amember's cousin and her friend who don't usually go to church. On the way back I was driving on the motorway when there was an awful bang, lots of smoke and the smell of burning. I pulled over, expecting a tyre tohave burst (we have 4 wheels on the back axle so we wouldn't necessarilyhave skidded). It turns out the gearbox had blown a hole, and the RAC man couldn'tunderstand why the back wheels hadn't locked, sending us into a spin. Whathe didn't know is our God is in control. The 2 new ladies who'd joined us for the day sent me a card thanking me fora wonderful day, even the breakdown, as we were so calm & collected. God'sangels were definitely on board!More praise, a man has since authorised the fixing of it for free! Our minibus is very old (1995), but very much part of our ministry inSouthmead. We pick up 3 loads of kid's for midweek children's club, plusteenagers and those kids (around 30-40) who come to Sunday School. We'vestarted saving for a newer bus, and would value prayer for wisdom in buyingthe right bus. Please pray also for our summer outreach and for contacts that have recentlybeen made to show fruit Yours in Christ Kathy
Shout out to all of our IPHC family in NW Europe and beyond.
